Five steps, and none of them a test.
We admit children, not scores. The process is designed so you see the school honestly and we get to know your child in a room rather than on paper.
THE PROCESS
From October to March.
Everything below happens between the first open house and the first Thursday in March. Nothing about it is a secret.

Visit on a Tuesday
Come while class is running. You'll see two or three labs in use, meet the Head of School, and ask anything.

Submit the application
A short online form: family information, the child's current school if any, and a paragraph on why you're applying. No fee.
DEADLINEJanuary 29 - 03
Child visit
For grades 1–8, a morning in a lab with the class they'd join. For 3K–K, a 30-minute play session with a teacher.
WINDOWDec–Feb - 04
Records & aid
Report cards and a teacher note for grades 1–8. Financial aid applications run on the same timeline.
DUEFebruary 12 - 05
Decision & enrollment
Decisions go out by mail and email. Contracts and a deposit are due three weeks later; aid awards arrive with the decision.

WHO WE ADMIT
Children who want to make something.
There is no profile. Classes are small, so a class is built rather than filled: we look for a room that will work for everyone in it.
QUESTIONS
Asked at every open house.
Not for 3K, 4K or Kindergarten. For grades 1–8 we look at report cards and a morning classroom visit; there is no standardized test requirement.
